Content exploring feminist engagement

The theatre’s social engagement is expressed through content elements inspired by feminist activism and the theatre’s programming. For example, the site takes a manifesto-like stance by inviting the public to take part in discussions about the theatre’s social mission. The universe of each play resonates with the elements that inspired it, such as educational content, position papers and dramaturgical references.

The main idea is to invite visitors to explore the creative universe of women artists and to take a deep dive into the world of socially engaged theatre. Each of the site’s sections is a creative space dedicated to freedom of expression that works in harmony with the theatre’s day-to-day operations (ticket sales, room rentals, donations, etc.).

Celebrating women artists

The brand platform sets the stage for strong personalities and each visual aspect supports each content element with colour, animation and photos to affirm and evoke the imaginary worlds of each play and its creators.

Focusing on the social mission

Since the site showcases engaged content, a minimalist approach to interactions was adopted to emphasize the content and encourage its discovery. What’s more, the site’s performance and accessibility enhance the fluidity of the reading experience.

In the spirit of losing constraints and letting the theatre and its artists fully express their vision, we chose an extremely malleable CMS with a simple, elegant structure to evolve, unfettered, with the theatre’s social mission over the years.

Conveying the imagination of women artists

Espace GO is so much more than a theatre site: It’s a digital experience, an unfolding play and a discovery of the theatre’s creative spaces. Every aspect of the site has been thoughtfully designed to emphasize both the theatre’s feminist mission and its vision of programming exclusively by women artists.
